Events

in Tramin and the surrounding area

The noble grape juice comes from the wine village of Tramin, just like the frescoes in the St. Jakob church. At events like the Gewürztraminer Wine Hiking Day and the Gewürztraminer Wine Route, the local Gewürztraminer is the star of the show. At the Traminer Weingassl or the autumn vineyard tour, everything revolves around the central theme of the place. Theme weeks are held in spring and autumn, which are the start and end of the warm months.

Wild fellows and convivial celebrations

The Tramin Egetmann parade, which always takes place on Shrove Tuesday in odd-numbered years, is a little less formal. If you want to experience the village from its wild, boisterous and exuberant side, stand at the side of the road with hundreds of other spectators to watch the procession as the Wudelen, the washerwomen, the wildly crazy bakers, blacksmiths, pan menders, the sometimes scary, sometimes impressive and... especially watch the strange characters go about their wild business.

There's always something going on in Tramin. Cellar night, pasta festival, music festival, dumpling festival – the locals know how to celebrate life. Recipes from the farmer's kitchen alternate with Mediterranean delicacies, while the local music band plays in their magnificent traditional costume. The festivals bring young and old together, and while you listen to the sound of music in the warm evenings, your glass is always refilled with an exquisite wine that goes perfectly with the culinary delights.

The local tourism association or Andrea at the Panorama will be happy to let you know about any current cultural, traditional or culinary events.
